Interrogators

The Interrogators of the Wizengamot are essentially the presiding Judges. They are appointed by the Minister of Magic. Unlike Muggle Judges, there is no pre-requisite that the Interrogators be lawyers before their appointment to the bench. This, unfortunately results in unpredictable decisions (much to the dismay of the various legal counsel). While they should be impartial, the Interrogators are often motivated by the current political climate, or rather the current Minister's political inclinations.

Number of Interrogators Presiding:

Criminal Trials : 1

Criminal Plea Court : 1

Criminal Show Cause :1

Appeals, Summary Convictions : (Small offence, not serious): 3

Appeals, Indictable : (More complex offences, serious): 5

Final Appeal : 9

Special Convocation : 9-50 depending on the nature of the convocation.
