Headquarters is located on the ninth level of the Ministry of Magic.

Unspeakables and their Mandate

Part of the Department of Mysteries, no one knows exactly the extend of what Unspeakables actually do. Of what is known, though, is that research and development is an integral part of their mandate.

These wizards have discovered that there is magic that is inherent to the very fabric of existence which manifests itself in ways that are difficult to explain and even more difficult--if not impossible--to control. The Unspeakables explore and experiment with these mysterious forces in various chambers which are clustered around a circular room lined with doors.

Magical Forensics Specialists

A division of Unspeakables, these witches and Wizards work with Aurors and Hit Wizards in the gathering and analyzing of forensic evidence from crime scenes. For more information, please see Magical Forensics Specialists.

Magical Surveillance Specialists

A division of Unspeakables, these witches and wizards work with Aurors and Hit Wizards in the setting up, implementation and the supplementing of surveillance and surveillance charms and equipment for criminal and Dark Arts investigations.
